Man dead after shooting near Roxbury park

No arrests have been made, according to Boston police

A man died after a shooting in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood Tuesday, according to police.

Officers first responded when they received multiple 911 calls reporting a person shot in the area of Munroe Street, just before 3 p.m. When they arrived, they found a male victim in Horatio Harris Park. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The person who was shot was identified Wednesday as Justin Bettencourt, a 21-year-old from Dorchester.

No arrests have been made as of Wednesday afternoon.

This happened in a tightly packed neighborhood with a lot of houses nearby. Trauma teams were on scene.
