
Police say a person has died after jumping out of a moving vehicle in Bedford, New Hampshire, on Sunday night, and district officials have identified the victim as a high school student.
Bedford police said they responded to a "motor vehicle incident" around 8:15 p.m. Sunday in the area of Wallace Road and Stagecoach Lane. Reports were that a male had jumped out of a moving vehicle.

The male, who was later determined to have been a passenger in a vehicle, was taken to an area hospital where he later died.
Bedford Public Schools released a statement Monday identifying the victim as a junior at the district's high school.

"Our hearts go out to the student's family and friends during this incredibly difficult time," Superintendent Michael Fournier said in a statement. "As a valued member of our school community, his loss is deeply felt by all."
The district, which has not named the student who died, said it is providing support services to students and staff.
"We ask for privacy and compassion as we navigate this profound grief," Fournier added.

Authorities have not said what may have led the person to jump from the vehicle, or provided a cause or manner of death. The investigation into the incident is "active and ongoing," according to police.
